Conducting an internship program

The students of the 5th in the Global Railway Training Course recently concluded  an internship program during the summer break. This program aimed to provide students with practical insights by engaging them with various companies in the field. In South Korea, students were afforded the opportunity to gain direct exposure to the operations of different companies within the industry. This exposure not only facilitated an understanding of the diverse roles within each company but also enabled the establishment of a valuable network crucial for their future careers.

Over a span of approximately 6 weeks, from July 3, 2023, to August 22, the students engaged in hands-on experiences with 9 different companies.

This year's participating companies included:

DMEC, which designs, plans, constructs, and maintains railways;
Korea's leading railway company, KORAIL,
Daeati, the No. 1 company in the Korean railway signal industry,
Yushin, who does engineering consulting;
LS Electric, which provides rail systems engineering and solutions;
Midong E&C, which is responsible for electricity, civil engineering, and maintenance of facilities,
A2 Mind, which provides network communication services that apply AI technology to railways;
Globiz, which monitors and provides maintenance (CBM) for rail vehicle systems;
ARTEC is in charge of the railway traffic control system field.

Throughout this period, the students engaged in meaningful collaborations. They actively participated in presentations, shared insights on global industry trends, and explored strategies for expanding Korean railway practices to international contexts. These interactions provided them with a comprehensive view of the industry landscape while honing their practical skills through direct involvement with each company's operations.

In conclusion, the an internship program proved to be a valuable opportunity for the 5th class of the Global Railway Training Course. It not only granted them exposure to the practical aspects of the railway sector but also fostered international connections and facilitated knowledge exchange. This experience will undoubtedly contribute significantly to their personal and professional growth.
