Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail Project Targeted on Operation in November 2022
PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC) continues to accelerate the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB) project. Until now, the progress of the project development with an investment value of 6.07 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 86.55 trillion has reached 74 percent.
KCIC targets that the trial of the KCJB project will be carried out in November 2022 and operate commercially in 2023. Later, Indonesian President Mr. Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will invite Chinese President Xi Jinping to try out KCJB.
This activity was carried out in conjunction with the implementation of the G20 Summit, where Indonesia will be the host.
The President hopes that this KCJB can be integrated with other modes of transportation such as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Jakarta. The connectivity between these transportation modes will make it easier for users of transportation services from one place to another so that it will create competitiveness and effectiveness.

For the information, The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail is the first high-speed rail project in Indonesia that has been initiated since 2015. The standard speed of this high-speed train will reach 350 km per hour. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will cut the time for the two cities to only 40 minutes with a track length of 142.3 km, much faster than the regular train travel time, which is currently more than 3 hours. The KCJB series will start from Halim Station, Jakarta, which will act as a departure and arrival station and end at Tegalluar Station, Bandung, with a total route length of 142.3 kilometres.
